What's an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way to give an AI model like Claude access to live tools and data. Once connected, Claude can call these SEO tools directly during a conversation instead of relying on what it already knows, which can be outdated or wrong.
How do credits work?
Each tool call costs credits roughly proportional to what it actually costs to run against DataForSEO: a site audit is 1 credit, keyword rankings are 1 credit per keyword checked, competitor discovery and keyword research are 5 credits each, and a backlink comparison is 20 credits. Credits are only deducted when a call actually succeeds — a failed call costs nothing.
What happens if I run out of credits?
Further calls are rejected with a clear error until your monthly cycle resets. There's no automatic overage billing.
Which clients can I connect this to?
Any MCP client that supports remote HTTP servers — including Claude.ai, Claude Code and Claude Desktop.
Do I have to use an MCP client?
No. Every tool is also available from the web dashboard — sign in with your API key and run audits, rankings, competitor research and more right from your browser. MCP is there if you want these tools wired into Claude or another AI workflow, but it's optional.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancelling through Stripe's billing portal stops your renewal and revokes your API key at the end of the current cycle.
